Vessels and objects will be made and coloured with engobe and terra sigillata.
After firing you will decorate the polished surface with smoke traces of horsehair and feathers. These ceramic pieces have delicate colours and feel very tender.

This workshop will emphasize creative problem solving. Students will explore various methods of making functional and sculptural forms. We can experiment with combinations of hand-built and thrown parts. But throwing is not necessary. There will be daily demonstrations featuring different approaches to handles, spouts, feet and trays. We will look critically at pots to assess form, surface, volume and energy.
We will speak about shino and shino style called SHINO YAKI. And about tea ceremony tools : Chawan, kogo, misusashi, chaire, sushi dish...
And most important, the deal will be ENJOY THE CLAY as the first day we touched it...

6 days of modelling with clay, carving soapstone, painting and creative games. Stone Sculpting or welding sculptures from scrap metal is possible for adults. The working day (around 4 hours with Otakars support) will be designed according to individual needs and abilities. Besides you have a lot of opportunities for recreational activities such as a spa visit, pony riding or a tractor trip in our area.

You will design and model simple and smooth shapes, which will be covered with a special layer. After Raku firing your pieces and cooling them down in the reduction boxes you will clean off the coating. As a result you get the typical craquelee on mat surfaces.
